Hari Raya Pasar Malam (AMS x CSS)
Curtin University
18:00 – 21:00
The Hari Raya Pasar Malam aims at celebrating the end of Ramadan, bringing together Muslim and international students to form a community, despite being far from home. It is a very important cultural celebration back in Singapore and Malaysia. We expect at least 120 people to attend the event. We will host a pasar malam (night market) with all of our food catered from our various sponsors, and drinks pre-prepared and served. There will be music and mini games for attendees to bond and get to know each other. The event is free entry, with attendees able to purchase food from individual stalls that we will set up. Activities include team bonding games and ice breakers, with entertainment yet to be decided. The event will run from 6pm-9pm, with committee members arriving early and leaving late to pack up.

Club's Carnival!

We plan on having easy-to-win mini games for people to play and win vouchers provided by our sponsors. These mini games would not need much space since people won't need to move around much to play. Other than that, we will set up our usual standing banner to display next to our booth, and pieces of laminated paper stuck to the table that display our Qpay QR code and all our sponsors.

Life's a Beach (so come lepak with us)
Cottesloe Beach
16:00 – 19:00
This event will serve as a meet and greet for AMS, however, we will be collaborating with Malaysian Cultural Society, UWA to help make this a lively event to kickstart the semester. We want to increase our brand awareness, hence why both clubs are involved as we want there to be a high number of attendees. This also helps AMS build a good relationship with MCS and their members. The event will be at Cottesloe beach, and it will just be a casual event where people can come and relax while meeting new people. Activities will include beach volleyball, frisbee, football, and two or three simple yet competitive games. We won't have any water activities that may pose as a danger to attendees, but will also advise them to swim at their own risk. There will be pizza, snacks and drinks provided by both clubs. Additional information: we intend to have bus/train guides (two committee members from each club) stationed to help new students reach the event safely. For Curtin, we plan to meet with them at about 3pm at the central bus station and make our way to Cottesloe beach together. This is so we can overcome the barrier of new students feeling nervous about attending the event because they are unfamiliar with the public transportation system. As for those who need rides going back after the event, we will tell them to let us know in advance and those who have cars within our committee can sort it out.

We intend on setting up our standing club banner right next to our table, so we are easily identified. On the table, we will paste our list of sponsors and a QR code for people to sign up via Qpay. We will also display club t-shirts for sale by hanging them up on our stall. We will also hand out goodie bags filled with non-perishable Asian snacks for every new sign-up. As for activities, we plan to have a simple spin-the-wheel for people to spin and win vouchers or prizes from our sponsors.

Malaysian GE15 Ballot Collection
Curtin University
14-11-2022 17:00 – 16-11-2022 18:00
This event is a simple one where we are partnering with MASCA National to collect postal ballots from the Malaysian community in Perth in regards to the 15th General Election in Malaysia. The idea is to have a simple booth in Curtin campus as a central place for people to drop off their ballots and go. This makes voting for overseas Malaysians easier as it ensures their ballots will be sent back to Malaysia via a runner (an aspect of this event that AMS is not personally overseeing). This is relevant to our club as we are, at the core, a Malaysian club, and we want to do our part in making sure the Malaysians here in Perth are heard.
