Your fellow international clubs are back at it again! AMS and CSS are collaborating to bring you yet another Hari Raya event, and we are better than ever. We asked for your feedback last year, and you guys certainly delivered. This celebration will have more of the 'Hari Raya' feel that we all know and love, with more food and stunning performances by your peers. Take this chance to lepak, take a break from your studies, and have a fun time with your friends and family.

  This Meet and Greet event is a social cohesion event where current Malaysian students in WA mingle and socialise amongst each other. It also serves as a platform for students to not only create new friends but to gain a familiarity with Perth. The itinerary of this event has been set out to include a series of activities that will allow students the opportunity to get to know each other. The goal in creating these activities for the student is to ensure that students all over Perth from different universities can bond and that will cultivate a sense of togetherness and a feeling of being at home.

Last event of the year, a collaboration event with CSS. Including variety of activities that members will compete with each other representing either CSS or AMS.

We plan to host our Annual General Meeting in the evening, from 6-8pm, but committee members will come one hour earlier to rearrange the tables and chairs, and set up the audio visual representation. Starting off, the executives will present their reports. We will then open the floor for nominations, accepting anyone who wishes to apply for their desired role. Those nominees will then pitch why they want that role, before leaving the room and allowing members to vote on the best candidate for each role. While counting the votes, attendees will be free to get food and drinks as they wait. The event will conclude with announcing the results of who the new 2024 committee will be.

Sportsathon is held every semester at the Curtin Stadium, and features a variety of sports for our club members to come and compete in good sport. This round, we will have badminton, basketball, volleyball, and at the end, tug of war. The event objectives are to promote unity amongst our members by splitting them into groups and encourage them to act as a team towards victory. There will be no food provided, however, we will have our sponsor Red Bull provide cases.

Merdeka Meet Up will be our meet and greet of the semester, where people can come together to celebrate Malaysia's Independence Day ('Merdeka' Day). The event won't be limited to just Malaysians, we will welcome people from any and all nationalities to celebrate with us as we play kahoot, childhood games, eat Malaysian food and socialise among one another. The objective of the event is to provide a space for people to commemorate Malaysia's Independence Day, but we aim to celebrate in a relaxed setting where people can just eat and talk. Our target audience is mostly international students, however, for the Malaysians who are away from home, this can be a good opportunity for them to celebrate togetherness.

We’ll have poker, roulette, blackjack, and mini games for you to enjoy! Members can join for $10 and non-Members for $12, which includes $100 worth of chips to play, food & drinks. We intend on setting up our standing club banner right next to our table, so we are easily identified. On the table, we will paste our list of sponsors and a QR code for people to sign up via Qpay. We will also display club t-shirts for sale by hanging them up on our stall. We will also hand out goodie bags filled with non-perishable Asian snacks for every new sign-up. As for activities, we plan to have a simple spin-the-wheel for people to spin and win vouchers or prizes from our sponsors.

Cozy Cruise will be our club’s way of celebrating the near end of the semester. We want to host this event for our members to come and have fun, relax for the weekend before continuing the grind of what’s left of the semester. This event will mainly be a social event where people can come and mingle with each other. The theme will be cozy (since it will be cold by the time of the event), so people are free to come in onesies or hoodies and sweatpants. We will advertise this event as an 18+ event because there will be alcohol served. When guests first arrive at 5pm, we will hand each guest a welcome package that includes motion sickness pill and a drink coupon, which they can use to get three free drinks at the bar. After guests redeem their free drinks, they’re free to buy more from the bar but out of their own pocket. We will also serve finger food that people can easily eat, nothing too heavy or filling in case someone starts to feel unwell when eating on the boat. The objective of this event is for our club committee to test out how well we can host this type of event, as most of us have not done it before. If the turnout is good and the general feedback is positive, we will gain the confidence to host another big event at the end of semester two. Throughout this event, committee members will not be drinking and will stay alert of our surroundings to ensure our attendees are safe and are not a danger to themselves or others.   (Revamped to Party Boat)

Sportsathon is an event AMS hosts every semester and the turnout is consistent every time. We usually get a good number of walk-ins, so this is a good event to attract new members. The goal of this event is to get everyone together to play friendly games of a variety of sports. Dodgeball and volleyball are new additions to our usual roster of sports for this event (usually just badminton and futsal), and they were added because some members have expressed more interest in those sports. Registration will be from 4pm to 4:30pm, afterwards we will have a short welcoming speech before kicking off the games. We want to host this event “sports day” style, so upon registration, we will divide attendees into different coloured houses (red, blue, green and yellow). All the sports games will go on simultaneously with committee members supervising and keeping score. This will go on until 7pm, when two winning teams have been announced and they face off in a tug-of-war challenge to decide the final winners. And the individuals of this winning team get to draw their prizes from a hat or bucket, and one lucky person will win a free ticket to our end-of-semester Cozy Cruise event. The rest of the prizes for others will be decided later on, but we will ask Snap Fitness Vic Park and Discount Health & Fitness if they can provide anything, as our sponsors.
