Sporthsathon

Sportsathon is an event AMS hosts every semester and the turnout is
consistent every time. We usually get a good number of walk-ins, so this
is a good event to attract new members. The goal of this event is to get
everyone together to play friendly games of a variety of sports. Dodgeball
and volleyball are new additions to our usual roster of sports for this event
(usually just badminton and futsal), and they were added because some
members have expressed more interest in those sports. Registration will
be from 4pm to 4:30pm, afterwards we will have a short welcoming
speech before kicking off the games. We want to host this event “sports
day” style, so upon registration, we will divide attendees into different
coloured houses (red, blue, green and yellow). All the sports games will
go on simultaneously with committee members supervising and keeping
score. This will go on until 7pm, when two winning teams have been
announced and they face off in a tug-of-war challenge to decide the final
winners. And the individuals of this winning team get to draw their prizes
from a hat or bucket, and one lucky person will win a free ticket to our
end-of-semester Cozy Cruise event. The rest of the prizes for others will
be decided later on, but we will ask Snap Fitness Vic Park and Discount
Health & Fitness if they can provide anything, as our sponsors.
